Luxury’s New Port of Call – Port Montenegro

Luxury’s New Port of Call

The Adriatic coast is home to one of Europe’s finest super yacht marinas

The Mediterranean at this time of year offers the beauty of autumn colours, the benefit of no crowds, and comfortable, ‘Indian Summer’ temperatures. What’s more there is a new destination in Europe for those seeking the classic luxury of the Cote D’Azure or the Italian Riviera, but want the very latest in upscale accommodation, dining and marina lifestyle.

This destination is called Porto Montenegro, and autumn is the ideal time to discover it.

Less than three hours flight from Moscow and Europe’s major cities, Port Montenegro is on the Bay of Kotor, a UNESCO World Heritage site and is served by a regular water taxi from the local airport.

As one of Europe’s deepest natural bays, and a former naval base, Porto Montenegro is ideally suited to today’s larger super yachts and offers land-based services that match the quality and luxury guests expect on-board.

The port is consolidating its position as a luxury yacht homeport and marina village and it’s probably fair to say it is the finest retail & lifestyle village on the Dalmatian coast and one of Europe’s most elegant super yacht marinas. It offers guests a selection of boutiques, selling world-class brands; international restaurants and bars; as well as a sports club; the luxurious Pura Beach Club; and of course the Porto Montenegro Yacht Club.

The port is increasingly popular amongst the elite sailing community as their preferred marina in the central Mediterranean and offers a level of exclusivity that has sadly been lost at many of Europe’s older yacht marinas.

Built within the coastal town of Tivat, close to the culturally and architecturally rich city of Dubrovnik, and the pristine countryside of Montenegro, Porto Montenegro is also an interesting property investment opportunity. With a euro-economy, and low taxes, (with just 9% company and capital gains tax), combined with its relative ease of access from three international airports, Porto Montenergo is attracting investors’ attention.

Architect-designed waterfront and promenade homes combine the charm of traditional architectural styles, including hidden piazzas and asymmetrical streets; together with the demands of the 21st century, including high quality materials, 24-hour concierge, secure parking and CCTV security. The first phases have already sold out, but due for completion next year is the Venetian-inspired ‘Regent Hotel and Residences’, offering private homes with 5 star hotel service.

In addition, due for completion next year, are the ‘Ksenija Residences’ of one to three bedroom apartments that could become some of the most prestigious waterfront addresses in the Adriatic. Prices are up to 2,200,000 euro.
